Luck has nothing to do with it!

Casino Floor was my home for most of 10 years. I lived in Las Vegas and worked for a slot machine production as a Casino Systems Engineer. This work required me to work at a number of casinos in Las Vegas and around the United States. Eventually I moved to Europe, where I also worked at casinos around Europe and the world. But the questions from each player (player) remained the same.

The psychology of a slot machine

Slots are designed to make the player as comfortable as possible. Seating, graphics and even the sound of the machine will appeal to the player. I’ve even experienced some machines that sent out an aroma to attract players (this didn’t work).

When I traveled the world, it became aware that some cultures engrave for certain games with slot machines. Just as Cleopatra/Egyptian themed games are a big hit in southern Europe, gold mining & TV shows are themed in the US, and dragon and Asian themed games are obviously big in Asia. Not only the design of the machine is taken into account, but also the location of the casino. All these statistics are recorded and used to develop new games and features to better attract more players.

Today’s casinos

Today, casinos can change all aspects of a casino floor at immediate notice. Server-based games were introduced a few years ago and have spread like wildfire around the world. This allows a casino to change pairs/hold percentages, game themes and even machine configurations on the go.

A casino can change the game and configuration of the casino floor for an upcoming weekend tighter (less winning) and then unload them again during the week (more winning) to adapt to the clientele and attract customers during rush hour ranging from a mouse click. When more data is collected by the casino, they create better marketing campaigns, analyze the performance of the slot machine and the player tends everything to adjust the casino floor better for the best optimization of revenue. This is done every time you turn the wheels of a machine.

How to win slots

So back to one of the original questions about how do I win? Well, it’s simple. Keep the money in your pocket and go home. However, if you ignore this advice, there are some tips to win on slots. Remember one thing, Las Vegas was built by a bunch of losers, not by a bunch of winners.

Tokens / Coins – The first step in gaming is to deposit money into the slot machine. The first method used on slot machines was the coin/token axis. The introduction of these acceptors revolutionized the slot machine and helped create what they are today. But as it went, it quickly realized that players can’t deposit money very quickly, slowing down the game, as well as winnings for casinos.

Chip cards – Although chip cards were introduced before tickets, they were not as accepted as tickets. The early chip card systems were slow, unreliable, and customers didn’t rely on their money on cards. Chip cards are still in use, but are not generally accepted as ticket sales.
